What is a Microlaser Peel? It is a intra-epidermal peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin. This procedure can be tailored to the nature of the patient concern. The “weekend” skin peel, treats skin conditions that are associated with aging and active lifestyles. Results are seen in a few days. Who should consider a Microlaser Peel? This procedure is for people who want more than a microdermabrasion or light chemical peel but have no time for a long healing process. What can be treated with a Microlaser Peel? Skin conditions such as winkles, scars, acne scars, keratosis, and pigment problems have successfully treated with a Microlaser Peel. How is it different? Microdermabrasion only removes 4 – 5 microns of skin. Light chemical peels remove up to 10 microns. The Microlaser Peel removes from 20 microns to 50 microns and is performed with a topical anesthetic. The Microlaser Peel is the perfect in-between step from chemical peels to full skin resurfacing. How many do I need? To achieve the optimal results, you will need 2 – 4 treatments which are spaced 6 – 8 weeks apart. What results can I expect? Smoother, healthier and more vibrant skin with a significant, immediate change in skin texture and tightness when compared to microdermabrasion and chemical peel treatments. How long will I take to heal? Immediately after the treatment you will look like you have a sunburn with some swelling. This will dissipate usually within 3 – 4 days. Minor sloughing will start on the 2nd day revealing fresh and rejuvenated skin. The procedure can be preformed on Thursday or Friday, so that you can return to work on Monday. Any residual redness can easily be covered with make-up.
