Our hands receive so much exposure, that they are one of the first places that start to look “old.” Natural aging and exposure to sun causes this appearance. Dark spots, known as “age spots” and precancerous growths start to appear. A loss of fatty tissue make veins more visible and the hands appear bony looking. The skin starts to appear dry and wrinkled. Hand rejuvenation treatments can give the hands a more youthful appearance. Various treatments are available, and often a combination of treatments may be needed to achieve the desired look.
What are the different types of Hand Rejuvenation Treatments? There are various types of hand rejuvenation treatments. The more common are:
Chemical Peel: When these chemicals are applied to the skin, it causes age spots to disappear while tissue appears less transparent. Multiple treatments are necessary.
Medical Skin Care: Physician only medical products that include vitamin A and C and hydroquinone, help to lighten the brown spots and even out the skin tone and improve texture.
Microdermabrasion: This is a superficial skin polishing procedure that involves sanding off the first layer of skin with tiny crystals.
Laser Skin Resurfacing: Using short bursts of laser light, unsightly dark “age” spots are gently erased the skin.
Injectable fillers (Fat, Hyaluronic Acid) – When these fillers are injected into the tops of the hands, they plump up the skin reducing the appearance of veins and making them look less bony. This results in a much more youthful and soft appearance.
